Where: Big Bend National Park is located in west Texas along the Rio Grande River, near the town of Terlingua, TX.
Entrance Fee: $30 Per Vehicle. Traveling to more than one park this year? I highly suggest purchasing an America the Beautiful Pass, which covers entrance fees at all National Parks and NPS managed sites for $80.
Kid Friendly: Yes. There are several easy to moderate hikes, as well as non-hiking activities for child-friendly Big Bend itinerary. Note that many moderate hikes involve steep inclines and cliff exposure. There are bears, mountain lions, and venomous reptiles throughout the park. Watch your children closely here!
Dog Friendly: No. Pets are not permitted on any trails, unpaved-roads, or on the river. Do NOT leave pets unattended in your vehicle at any time.
